Broadcast Center is a connection (node) between contribution and distribution part of the SMART EDU e-learning network.
Multiple Remote Studios are connected to a single Broadcast Center. Broadcast Center receives communication from a Remote Studio via a contribution link, and broadcasts it to the trainees.
Broadcast Center is also used to allow the communication, by the Feedback Link, from Trainees to Trainer, or to other Trainees.
Broadband IP infrastructure can be also used as a forward link. This makes sense mainly for large corporation with own broadband connectivity as banks etc. Important is they have to enable multicast traffic.
SMART EDU is supposed to operate broadcasts on a time sharing basis, so each Remote Studio has a pre-scheduled time slot for broadcasting Live Session to the Trainees. So, for example, Remote Studio (1) in Torino broadcasts live sessions each Monday 10:00-12:00, while Remote Studio (2) broadcasts live sessions each Friday 12:15-15:00.
